Schwarzschild quasinormal mode, computed in your browser

This page computes the fundamental gravitational quasinormal mode of a Schwarzschild black hole using Leaver's continued-fraction method. A researcher can run it directly in a browser as a deterministic bridge to HPC: no install, no cluster queue, and a reproducible root-find before committing to a larger run.

Verified

l=2, n=0   M·ω = 0.3736716844 − 0.0889623157 i

An independent Leaver continued-fraction solve (no lookup) matches Leaver 1985 to < 1e-11.

Method

The mode is found by an independent Leaver continued-fraction root-find at a=0. There is no table lookup of the result: the continued fraction is solved directly to locate the l=2, n=0 root M·ω = 0.3736716844 − 0.0889623157 i. The recursion coefficients are the published qnm package values evaluated at a=0.

Honest scope

Independent continued-fraction root-find at a=0; the reference coefficients are the published qnm package values. This is a verified reproduction, not a fit.
